US perspective of Sambo
If you click the link you will find an interesting article on Sambo/Combat Sambo from a US perspective. I have never heard of any those making comments but that would not be unusual as at present US Fighters are not in Sambo World Rankings like they were in the 1980's and 90's but some I am told are respected MMA fighters in the various different Rules of MMA. Most of the comments are interesting as they give an insight to those who do not know Sambo/Combat Sambo and this can help us promote Sambo to those outside the sport.
Sambo/Combat Sambo are stand alone sports which has been in existence for over 75 years, its growth over the last 10 years has been outstanding and I would suggest to everyone take up Sambo/Combat Sambo as a sport in its own right. Yet we have to all accept that is not for everyone, one of my former students has joined a local MMA club because there is very little throwing. As I said to him Sambo/Combat Sambo has high devastating throws that is part of the spot
